Oracle Database Engineer

Project Background:

Project to address identified issues with the backups of Large Databases within HSBC's physical server estate.

The intention iS to provide a service where We will integrate our storage technology and backup technology so they utilise available snapshot functionalities.

HSBC need T& M resource to help deliver this against the agreed HLD and SDD we are currently writing. Documentation willbe key for this project, and all resources will be expected to be competent with Jira

and Confluence for the purposes of getting tasks complete

Requirements

Experience with Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery and performance tuning.

Strong knowledge of Jenkins, including setup, configuration, and management of CI/CD pipelines.

Proficiency in Ansible for automation of infrastructure and application deployment.

Proven experience as a vSphere Engineer, with hands-on experience in desi igning, implementing, and managing vSphere environments specially around Oracle database servers.

Solid understanding of networking concepts, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Relevant certifications (e.g, Oracle Certified Professional, VMware Certified Professional etc.) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with other automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell Scripting).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., OCI).

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
