Summary
This position acts primarily as strategic partner to the Operations Leader of the plant Daman but also as business partner to the whole local management team of the plant. Is pro-actively driving the Operations Leader and the local management team regards operational excellence, continuous improvement and Plan execution. Responsible for compliance of the plant regards SOX, export, safety and environment.
The jobholder
• Supports the local management team to improve working capital, to optimize cost structure, and to take all actions necessary to achieve the operating business plan.
• Manages and provides a professional financial service to the required Circor and local regulatory standards, which is necessary to run the company, controls budget execution effectively and preserves company property.
• Manages all day-to-day financial related issues.
• Adheres and implements CIRCOR ethical standards/regulations
Primary Responsibilities include:
- To supervise the cost controlling function of the business to ensure that effective production cost controlling procedures are in place and that standard costs data quality is maintained on high accuracy level
- To undertake and manage business planning, budgeting, analysis and forecasting activity as and when required in partnership with the whole local leadership team.
- To prove the reliability of the management information and ensure that adequate explanations for variances can be provided. Pushes required counter activities
- Ensure proper Standard Cost updation as per corporate policy and continuous improvements for cost accuracy.
- Review plant’s operative KPI on weekly basis and guide plant team to improve on that.
- Prepare, understand, and explain reports for monthly, quarterly and year-to-date performance-to-plan, forecast and prior periods. Includes analyzing variances, profitability, customer order status, spending, staffing, inventory turns, and other related metrics. Initiate and implement timely corrective actions with management to capitalize on opportunities.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget of the plant, including expense and capital spending, components of cost of sales, inventory, staffing, cost reductions etc.
- Responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) as per SOX / ICFR requirements are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
- Ensures that financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy, US GAAP and Indian GAAP.
- Support financial and SOX audits. Responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations resulting from the audit findings as far as relevant to the plant.
- Ensure statutory compliance to direct/indirect tax, central excise, customs duties, transfer pricing, permanent establishment (PE) and other requirements.
- Create robust systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
- Lead the efforts to reduce working capital and increase asset turns while ensuring proper accruals. Implement improvements for inventory cost accounting by applying relevant product costing methods.
- Support the preparation of capital expenditure requests. Track spending and savings for approved projects.
- Ensures that the company’s management principles, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.
- Assist the Director Finance in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, board members.
- Business Partnering by providing financial controllership to Plant Management Team
Functional Skills & Knowledge:
- Ideally, proven 5-7 years relevant finance experience in a supervision and change agent role in the machine building industry.
- Familiarity to work in a multinational environment, ideally from a US or European corporation.
- A formal accounting education and membership with any accounting body such as Institute of Chartered Accountants or CPA etc.
- Commercial enterprise managerial reporting experience is a must.
- Good ability to motivate, develop and manage team and efficiency to work with other similar staff.
- Technical and functional skills in financial controlling.
- Resilient Customer focus and strong analytical and financial skills.
- Good Communication skills and exhibit excellent professional ethics.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication in English. Ability of German, verbal and written communication will be an added advantage.
