Organization Profile

Engineer for Applications on Android cluster  (AOPS/AAOS)
Knowledge of IOT protocols like MQTT, CoAP

Job Purpose

 

The Connected Vehicle Developer position is part of the in-house product engineering team cthat has been setup to create technical differentiation and intellectual property in the domain of Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). This role will be part of the team that owns application development, support and enhancement of the Connectivity Applications for the current and future platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Connected Vehicle Developer, you will be responsible for development working with various stakeholders. Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

 

  • Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain Android applications for use in the vehicles systems, focusing on features for connectivity, communication with Mobile and Cloud applications.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct unit tests and system tests to ensure applications meet quality standards and comply with automotive safety regulations. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify and fix defects.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for performance, minimizing resource consumption and ensuring smooth operation on automotive hardware
  • Documentation and Support: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, including technical specifications and user guides. Provide technical support to internal teams and customers as needed.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with system designers, system engineers, product managers and other stakeholders to ensure applications meet customer requirements and integrate with existing vehicle platforms.

Qualification, Experience and Certification – Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Electronics & communication or equivalent degree
 
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant automotive experience
  • Proficiency in Java/Kotlin, Android Studio, and related tools
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs & Websocket  to connect Android applications to back-end services
  • GraphQL  APIs, Apollo Client to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Experience in Agile Practice and application tracking tools like JIRA, Rally,etc.

 

  • Expertise in Software Development, Android Architecture, AAOS, BSP and maintenance of the Android platform for a variety of devices
  • This role involves deep technical knowledge of Android's system architecture, frameworks, and user interface components
