Key responsibilities:
 Test functionality of each feature of this SCADA System to meet functional and non-
functional and integration requirements.
 Perform options analyses against emerging technology standards and business strategies.
 Ensure Test reports are created within the Team are created and reviewed to a high
standard.
 Provide guidance and support to Team members and ensure adherence to architectural
standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards and other
forms of good practice.
 Provide guidance and support to line of business projects requiring deployment in the CNI
Data Centre.
 Establish and maintain framework for continuous engagement with stakeholders.
 Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout a
full lifecycle.

Key skills/knowledge/experience:
 Good years of significant experience of SCADA configuration and maintenance.
 Experience of Power System Operators (Control Room Staff).
 Experts in Power System Analysis.
 Seasoned SCADA experience – Testing.
 Ability to understand the functional aspects of SCADA and support in Functional and
Integration testing.
 Ability to understand different protocols, interfaces, and integration layers.
 Ability to understand Web Interfaces, API protocols etc.
 Significant experience of SCADA configuration and maintenance.
 Experience of Power System Operators (Control Room Staff).
 Excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of future-proof, complex global
solutions.
 Excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills that are required to operate
as a leading member of global, distributed teams that deliver quality services and solutions.
 Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of the organizational model unique to National Grid and to
facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team.
 Knowledge and experience in IT methodologies and life cycles that will be used.
 Familiar with solution implementation/management, service/operations management, etc.
