Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:
  • Designing and developing I&C systems for industrial applications w.r.t Chemical Manufacturing.
  • Developing models and designs for automated systems.
  • Creating detailed specifications and drawings for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Developing and reviewing Instrumentation & Control Concept notes ,instrument indexes, instrument datasheets, Control Philosophy and inline instrument sizing.
  • Installation and Commissioning:
  • Supervising the installation, wiring, and signal conditioning of instrumentation systems.
  • Installing and commissioning instrument control systems.
  • Participating in project design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Performing regular preventative maintenance on existing systems.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and software to repair and diagnose system malfunctions.
  • Troubleshooting programmable logic controller (PLC) circuits/ DCS Systems, an exposure to MES will be an added advantage.
  • Data Management:
  • Administering and storing data collected from instrumentation systems.
  • Monitoring data communication and system access.
  • Project Management:
  • Managing projects to ensure timely delivery and adherence to budget requirements.
  • Ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensuring instruments meet health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Providing process documentation and operating instructions.
  • Preparing instrumentation diagrams, process control narratives, instrument lists, and input/output lists.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborating with design engineers, production staff, and professionals in mechanical and electronics engineering.
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant authorities.
  • Working collaboratively with other disciplines.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong technical skills in electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.
    • Experience with sensors, recorders, transmitters, displays, PLCs/ DCS.
    • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
    • Familiarity with process simulations using software like MATLAB, Dymola, or LabView.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in software like AutoCAD LT. / 3D Modelling – Navisworks
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Project management skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Safety Awareness:
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to safety protocols with respect to a chemical manufacturing unit.
